The Canadian Young Women in Business Society (YWiB) is committed to protecting the privacy of its members, volunteers, donors and supporters. In this Privacy Statement, "personal information" means any information about an identified or identifiable individual, excluding any information that has been anonymized or that is excluded from the definition of "personal information" under applicable laws.

YWiB is continually improving and adding new functionality and features to its website, www.ywib.ca (the “Site”) and improving and adding to our existing services and programs. Because of these ongoing changes, changes in the law, and the changing nature of technology, YWiB’s data collection and retention practices may change from time to time. We encourage you to check this page frequently in order to familiarize yourself with such changes.


Other than cookies, as described below, the only personal information YWIB currently collects is the information you voluntarily give us such as when you: register for an event or activity; attend a YWiB event; contact YWiB representatives; submit an inquiry through the Site; enter into an agreement with YWiB; or fill out surveys or feedback forms. The personal information that YWiB may collect includes your legal name, physical address, phone number, and e-mail address.


YWiB collects personal information in order to provide services, give information on YWiB and YWiB events and functions, give notice and register for the Annual General Meeting, and meet contractual and legal requirements.  


YWiB stores personal information in cloud-based services (including MailChimp, Wild Apricot and Google Drive).  YWiB limits access to personal information on a need-to-know only basis to volunteers and third-parties.


As of the date of this Privacy Statement, YWiB uses Google Analytics to understand how you use and interact with our services. If you don't want data to be collected and reported by Google Analytics, you can opt-out by installing a browser add-on. Visit the Google Analytics opt-out page for more information. Please note that YWiB’s use of third party service providers is subject to change.

Further Information; Removal

You may request a copy of and/or deletion of your own personal information held by YWiB.  Requests must be made in writing through mail or e-mail to the legal representative at legal@ywib.ca.
