THE EVENT
After opening remarks, icebreakers, and a brief introduction to YWiB, we started our speaker presentations.
Nadia Ciani
Say namaste to our first coach, Nadia Ciani from ManpowerGroup, who introduced us to trade-offs, productivity, and balance. A firm believer of “Life is a choose your adventure book, and along the way, we women make trade-offs.” Nadia became a young executive early on in her career through personal trade-offs. Whether it was choosing not to go to law school or working while still being a mom and taking more responsibilities at work or changing personal relationships - these trade-offs were all intrinsically Nadia! Did we mention, she’s also a certified yoga instructor?
Our key takeaways:
No such thing as sacrifices in choices, just trade-offs - take a left or a right. You have the choice to lean into that choice and commit 100%.
Create before you consume! Phone’s away for the first hour of your day.
Figure out your power hour - when are you the most creative at different things? Take note and use it.
Pick an AM/PM routine and stick to it despite what’s happening - this will help you create balance when times are tough and moving quickly.
Build your energy wheel; it creates a weekly reminder of “does what I’m doing right now align with my energy drivers?”.

Danielle Smith
Danielle Smith walked us through her session titled “Leveraging Your Greatness", focusing on personal growth and navigating transitioning periods through the workplace. An RBET certified practitioner and mindset coach who works with BIPOC women, her career to date has been a mix of real estate and entrepreneurial feats.
Our key takeaways:
An abundance mindset is key to growth and action; it prevents complacency, improves your work ethic, and positions you as an asset to your company and ultimately yourself.
Success doesn’t happen by accident. Your best self is a result of goal setting.
Plan your next move even if you’re not looking.
Play to your strengths, those are your gifts, and they will allow you to move confidently.

After a good session of Q&A, we separated the audience into breakout rooms for virtual networking. This allowed attendees to meet each other in small groups and discuss the event and their career pain points and aspirations.
YWiB team members joined in as well, helping to facilitate connections and ensure conversations were flowing.
Narley Karikari
After a well-needed lunch break, it was right back to our last but certainly not the least, coach Narley Karikari. Narley is a board-certified life and mindset coach, a hypnotherapist, and an NLP practitioner. A passionate coach, she thrives on helping women heal in self-doubt and live their true-life purpose through their businesses.
Narley led a talk about growth mindset, creating goals with soul, overcoming procrastination, and perfectionism.
Our key takeaways:
The quality of your life is determined by the quality of questions you ask yourself.
Mindset is vital. It alone can help or hinder your life.
Your beliefs are just repeated thoughts. So be mindful of the story you tell yourself and others.
You know it’s a limited belief when it makes you feel small.
Ask yourself tough questions, “What belief is creating this reality, habit or fear?”
Goals are bite-sized dreams with a deadline and a direction.
Your goals need to be worthy of you.
