Our 2022 Mentorship Program Is Underway!

We had so many potential mentors and mentees apply for the program this year, which was incredible. It just goes to show that there is a need for this work amongst women in business in Toronto, and we couldn't be prouder to provide these opportunities to empower our community! 

From everyone that applied, we were able to create various matches. Luckily enough, there was a suitable mentor for each mentee that applied. We try to match everyone based on their field of work and areas of interest. 

Here is a snapshot of what our current cohort looks like: 

Mentors 

Our mentors have approximately 70 combined years of experience in the workforce. 

  • Approx. 40% are in technology 

  • Approx. 30% are in consulting 

  • Approx. 30% are in sales 

Mentees

Our mentees are all new in the workforce, and a few of them are still students. 

  • Approx. 40% are in marketing 

  • Approx. 20% are in consulting 

  • Approx, 20% are in sales 

  • Approx. 20% are in technology 

Our Summer 2022 Program officially kicked off on June 6th, when our mentees and mentors had the chance to meet our Executive team and the rest of the program participants. Since then, our matches have already started their work together! 

Throughout the summer, our mentee-mentor partnerships will meet in three structured working sessions in order to:

  • focus on their developing skills

  • learn from each other

  • navigate their careers as women in business. 

The first session will help mentees nail their resume writing skills by crafting key messages to help them stand out and snag their dream jobs. In the second session, our mentees will master the art of the coffee chat, learning all the strategic questions to ask in order to build their professional network. Lastly, in the third and final session, our mentees will be put to the test and will have the opportunity to show off their skills as our mentors conduct mock-interviews. 

We will also have a Mentee Mixer, where our mentees will have the opportunity to meet with other mentees in the program and share what they’ve learned with each other.

We are so excited that our mentor and mentee partnerships are in progress and we can’t wait to hear what everyone has learned. Bringing resources and development to young women in business is what we’re all about!
