Diversity and Inclusions Resources for a More Inclusive Future
/This week marked one year since the passing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The last 12 months have changed the world and started long overdue dialogues, in society, in politics and in business. The process we are currently going through concerns all of us and requires a commitment and involvement from everyone. Together we are responsible for educating ourselves, seeking dialogue, asking questions and taking initiatives to create a more inclusive society for all.
In a previous blog post on diversity and inclusion, we presented three resources - two books and an exhibition. You can find the article here. Today we would like to share a platform for online courses on diversity and inclusion, an activist you should follow online and an article:
LinkedIn Learning:
Did you know that LinkedIn offers online courses on various topics? If you look for courses on diversity and inclusion, here is the list of the most recent added courses: https://www.linkedin.com/learning/topics/diversity-and-inclusion?sortBy=RECENCY
Instagram Account by Rachel Cargle:
We all spend hours on our phones and probably a fair amount on Instagram. One account that you shouldn't miss is the one by Rachel Cargle. She is an author, speaker and activist. Her lecture series "Unpacking White Feminism" covers the racism ignored by the mainstream feminist narrative. According to an article by the Washington Post, "her signature message is one of tough love for do-gooder progressive white women."
You can find her IG account here.
Features on her in the Washington Post and the New York Times.
Article on Girlboss:
Words like “inclusion” and “diversity” become mere lip service unless there are actual policies in place to ensure that a workplace is welcoming to employees of all backgrounds. And that includes transgender and non-binary individuals. Read the following article to learn more: How to Create An Inclusive Workplace For Transgender Employees.
Please share with us your favorite books, movies, series, exhibitions and events on the topic in the comment section or on social media. We are ready to learn and continue to grow together.
