3 steps to get intentional about your year

The influx of “new year, new me” content can quickly get overwhelming, or even discouraging. If you haven’t hit the ground running this January, we’re here to remind you that it’s ok if you don’t have a list of new years resolutions that you kicked off on January 1st.

The truth is, resolutions are not for everyone! If this is you, here are three steps for more open ended reflection and intention setting for the year:

Reflect on 2024

What went well? What didn’t go well? What sparked joy and fulfillment for you? What did you learn? Jot it down, record a voice note or simply sit and reflect. Mel Robbins has a great episode on 7 questions to ask yourself about 2024.

Pick a word

What is something you want to focus on this year? If one word is too restrictive, you can pick a few of them. This word could be a feeling, a focus area, a verb; anything that resonates!

Represent your intentions visually

While most people default to a mood board, there are tons of other mediums you can explore. Whether it’s writing or painting, consider how to create a visual representation of how you want your year to look and/or feel.

And, if you do find resolutions helpful, these three steps can lay the foundation for more intentional, specific goal setting.
