The End of an Era: Insights from Valentine, Our Co-President!

For those that don’t already know, what is your name?
Hi everyone, my name is Valentine!
What roles have you had in your time with YWiB Vancouver?
Prior to becoming Co-President at YWiB Vancouver in June 2018, I was Co-Chair for our Beyond Conference, a full day of interactive and tangible workshops, insightful keynotes, and panels!
What made you interested in volunteering with YWiB?
I’ve been extremely lucky in my life so far and I just wanted to give back to the community and help make a difference in the world. I’ve always been passionate about women’s rights and empowerment. So volunteering with YWiB Vancouver was just obvious!
What are you up to outside of YWiB?
I am a digital marketing professional, passionate about growth marketing strategies and data analytics. I am also a big outdoor enthusiast! I enjoy snowboarding, rock climbing, and hiking. In my spare time, I also love reading, watching drama movies, and baking! Nothing beats the smell of fresh banana bread in the oven!
What is your biggest takeaway from your time with YWiB?
I’m extremely grateful for all the new friendships and professional encounters I’ve made over the years. It’s truly incredible to see so many people willing to help and support our non-profit organization!
What is your all-time favorite memory from your time with YWiB?
We had such a great time last year with the team during our holiday party! We had a nice dinner together, exchanged gifts, and laughed so much! Unfortunately, we won't be able to gather together this year but we will make sure to stay connected virtually!
